“Increasing Employee Productivity & Retention by Implementing a Work-Life Balance Friendly Culture”
If the “Great Resignation” taught us anything, it was that many employees quit or resigned from their jobs because they realized that their work-life balance was significantly “off balance” as it pertained to their personal lives.
That left many employers scrambling for quality employees in corporate America resulting in companies offering additional pay, incentives, and benefits, despite money not being the reason why many left.
People realized that their employers weren’t considerate of their lives outside of work and the time and energy they had left to spend with their loved ones.
Fortunately, corporations and employers can implement policies and a working environment that allows employees from the executive level to entry-level employees to be more productive and engaging resulting in increased retention.
As an attorney who represented mental health patients for 10 years, Tamika knows firsthand how close people are to burnout and emotional breakdowns, which is no good for businesses.
Tamika shares what an impending employee burnout looks like and how to turn that around so they can continue to work at an optimal level.
At the end of the day, creating and maintaining a work-life balance for your employees results in:
· IMPROVED PRODUCTIVITY
· INCREASED ENGAGEMENT
· HIGHER EMPLOYEE RETENTION
and I share how this can be achieved within your organization.
"Strategies to Create a Healthy
Work-Life Balance Personally & Professionally"
Attorney, CEO, Magazine Publisher, Podcast Host, Wife, Mother, Daughter, Friend...
As high-achieving professionals, we do a LOT!
From Corporate Executives & Entrepreneurs running highly profitable businesses or multi-million dollar companies during the day to attending our kids' practices, games, recitals, and competitions in the evening. Not to mention finding and/or maintaining a healthy relationship and marriage in between all of that.
Trying to balance and be all of this is increasingly stressful, depressing, and overwhelming. But there is a way to achieve it while still performing optimally in all areas of your life.
As high-achieving and performing professionals, many are closer than any of us know to a stressed-induced mental and physical breakdown. It’s time to ditch the cape because being a Superhero is not a compliment or badge of honor. It’s a burden.
There will ALWAYS be storms and disruptions in your life. Finding balance is not easy, but it is simple and necessary for long-term success and longevity.
People, work, bosses, relationships, businesses, and/or clients will drain the life out of you if you let them.
We can have it all, we just need the knowledge, information, belief, and accountability to achieve it all - free of guilt and full of peace!
When people choose to be INTENTIONAL about crafting a "Work-Life Balance" then it’s a win-win for corporate executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and working parents professionally & personally.
"Navigating Life & Law: Avoid Burnout as Legal Professionals in a Highly Competitive, Demanding Field"
There’s no doubt about it, that as students prepare to enter the workforce full-time in the area in which they have been studying for years in school, it can be intimidating and overwhelming.
As a single mother, while attending law school, to opening her own law firm upon being admitted to practice law, Tamika Johnson unknowingly jumped on a never-ending hamster wheel. Quiet as kept, that hamster wheel spins in perpetuity, you just have to learn how to slow it down and jump off before you burn out.
It is not unusual for many students to think that when they land their dream job all will be right with the world. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
There will ALWAYS be challenges – especially as they embark upon highly competitive careers and jobs. That’s why it is vital that students begin incorporating specific “work-life balance” strategies into their lives now. Doing this before they graduate will:
· Improve their long-term Mental Health & Wellness
· Reduce dropout rates
· Increase healthy relationships
· Demonstrate how to negotiate certain well-being employee benefits
Additionally, learning how to simultaneously focus on a career, relationships, and having a family without being overwhelmed is extremely beneficial, especially for those who believe that they have to focus on their career first before they can pursue or have any of those other things.
As academic institutions of higher education, it is vital to teach students not just the education or business portion of life, but the balance of it as well to combat mental illness, anxiety, and depression that many are now experiencing from a lack of having a healthy “work-life balance.”
